Positive Tipping Points are Attainable

Whitecap has come to believe that we live in a world of Tipping Points that can be either positive or negative, depending on what those around them do.

Tipping Points are inflection points of either radically negative or positive change which, when they reach critical mass, create what is called a Tipping Point. We believe that although there is a large degree of difficulty and volatility in this world, there is also a large measure of hope as well. Part of this belief is based on the fact that we are often much closer to positive adoption of change then we realize and that, with just the right push in just the right place at just the right time, a situation can be tipped for good. Simply by tinkering with just the right thing at just the right time, radically different outcomes can be achieved. “In the end, Tipping Points are a reaffirmation of the potential for change and the power of intelligent action.” (The Tipping Point, by Malcolm Gladwell)

We have been fortunate to be part of three positive such Tipping Point experiences since 1992 and the insight of what we gleaned from these organizational epidemics is infectious in a very positive way. We have come to believe that positive tipping points can and should be created in today’s workplace. At Whitecap, we are bound and determined to be as catalytic as possible to see that more are created.
